It was an absolute pleasure to have Tom Dickson of Blendtec give the keynote address at our Annual Joint Event this year.

Tom shared inspirational stories of how he came up through the ranks as a young engineer to become a world-class inventor and successful entrepreneur. He shared several examples of his previous work including various stages of his blender inventions, and talked to us about the importance of protecting intellectual property, and the critical necessity to ‘let things go’ and move on, remaining focused on the business at hand.

After answering a few questions from the audience, Tom took a few moments to show us the industrial strength of the Blendtec blender in a live Will it Blend demo by reducing a garden rake handle to sawdust; very exciting and pretty impressive!

Here is a short video of Tom blending the rake handle at the event…

On behalf of The Utah Valley Entrepreneurial Forum, I would like to thank Tom Dickson of Blendtec for spending his time with us, and also thank our event partners at the Utah Technology Council, VentureCapital.org, and the MountainWest Capital Network.

Thank you, too, to the over 200 attendees at this year’s event; it was great to see you all!
